The 3.1GHz model is definitely faster and more powerful than the 2.7. * If you will be using graphics-intensive programs such as Adobe Photoshop then you’ll need a better GPU (or graphics card).  The 1GB AMD Radeon on the 3.1GHz model is definitely a plus. * Upgrading the system memory to 8GB will also help a lot. But if you need a very powerful mac, get a Mac Pro lol
